Some weddings just stick with you—and Katelyn + Zach’s celebration in Bigfork, Montana is one of those. Maybe it was the perfect balance of intention and fun, or maybe it was the espresso martini tower, the mechanical bull, or the streamer-filled send-off. Either way, this wedding had personality, and it had it in spades.
Held on private property owned by close family friends (whom Katelyn babysits for, no less), the setting couldn’t have been more meaningful. With views of wide-open Montana skies, a floral-filled ceremony meadow, and a cozy reception lawn, it was the kind of place that already felt like home. And on that hot summer day, it became the backdrop for something unforgettable.
Katelyn is a wedding photographer, so you better believe she had an eye for details. And Zach? He’d only ever been to one wedding before, but he knew it was a blast—and that’s exactly what he wanted for theirs: a wedding where people had fun. Together, their vision came to life through whimsical touches, layered textures, and a million thoughtful moments.
The invitation suite by 26 Pressed was a showstopper—timeless and earthy with a perfectly imperfect deckled edge. Even on a tight timeline, Rebekah (of 26 Pressed) pulled off every piece of the day-of stationery, from menus to the seating chart, helping bring the design together with intention and style.
The ceremony took place in a floral-filled meadow, designed to feel wild and organic. Guests sat amphitheater-style, surrounding the couple with love while Zach’s dad officiated. Our sister-brand Parcells Flower Co created a floral installation that looked like it grew straight from the earth—grasses, dried elements, and buttery blooms giving the whole moment a sense of grounded beauty.
After vows were exchanged, the energy shifted—and fast. Katelyn + Zach made their reception entrance by running through a tunnel of high-fives, like it was game day. The reception tables were full of layered textures and playful romance: ceramic plates, vintage flatware, smoky cut crystal glassware, and textural napkins under warm bistro lighting. Parcells Flower Co brought nature to life in the most artful, romantic way possible with arrangements and budvases placed down the long tables, paired with soft candlelight and earthy-toned décor that felt both grounded and elevated. And for one of our favorite touches, local river rock was used to hold down the menus and placecards from flying away in the wind within the big sky country.
They poured espresso martinis into a coupe tower, turning the start of toasts into a moment of celebration (and caffeine). Later, guests took turns riding a mechanical bull—with t-shirts commemorating the moment: “I rode the bull at Zach & Katelyn’s wedding.”
As the night came to a close, guests lined up and waved streamers as Katelyn + Zach made their final exit, hopping on a bike and riding off into the night—sweaty, smiling, and wildly in love.
A huge shoutout to Melissa Stickney, who captured every single moment of the day with grace and ease. She led the day so beautifully and delivered a gallery that truly reflects how it all felt.
Katelyn + Zach’s wedding was proof that you can mix beauty and fun, sentiment and wildness—and when you do it right, it’s magic.
