French-Inspired Burton Beach Wedding on Vashon Island, Washington | Claire + Jack | Brynna Kathleen Photography

Claire + Jack’s wedding was a story years in the making—one we had the joy of watching unfold every step of the way. From our very first visit to Claire’s family property on Vashon Island, we knew this would be a celebration that was just as much about family legacy as it was about their love story. They were the first in both of their families to marry, and with that came a sense of excitement and honor woven into every detail.

We visited the property every couple of months leading up to the wedding, watching it transform into the perfect stage for this once-in-a-lifetime event. The result was a day that balanced logistics with aesthetics—both grand in scale and deeply personal in the details.

The color palette leaned into the property’s natural beauty: soft dusty blues, muted greens, and shades of ivory. This created a grounding, harmonious look that paired effortlessly with the coastal scenery, shrubbery, and summer light. The flowers by Parcells Flower Co mirrored this vision, blending buttery whites and airy greens into romantic, whimsical arrangements. The ceremony itself was breathtaking: benches with antique umbrellas and clamshell bases faced a circular stage nestled in a meadow of florals. Claire + Jack stood surrounded by hydrangea, roses, and stunning greenery, with the water peeking through beyond them—a truly magical focal point for their vows.

As guests arrived, they were welcomed with champagne and a build-your-own toss petal bag, a charming detail that felt both interactive and celebratory. Claire’s uncle, a local judge, officiated, adding another layer of family legacy to the moment.

Cocktail hour flowed across multiple spaces on the property. Down at the beach, a double bar served Palomas and Manhattans. On the deck, guests lingered around bistro tables, sipping drinks and sampling a massive grazing board featuring a 40-pound wheel of Beecher’s cheese (a nod to the family’s longtime friendship with the owner of the brand). Lawn games and lounge areas dotted the side yard, creating an atmosphere that felt celebratory, relaxed, and distinctly personal.

Dinner, catered by Russell Lowell Catering—whose resume includes cooking for names like Bill Gates and the Clinton family—was a standout experience. Guests dined al fresco beneath bistro lights at long dark wood tables with cushioned wood chairs. The tablescape paired European flair with whimsical details: scalloped china, striped napkins, ribbed glassware, and vintage silver flatware layered with gauze runners. Shell place cards, hand-collected and painted by Claire herself, added a sentimental finishing touch.

After dinner, Claire + Jack kicked off the evening in style, pouring champagne into a towering coupe display before heartfelt toasts began. Guests indulged in French pastries from La Parisienne, a nod to Jack’s heritage, while Café Guillet (their new last name!!) espresso martinis and shots flowed from a charming coffee and dessert cart. Later, the newlyweds cut into a cake by The Nerdy Caker, giving guests just enough sweetness to balance out the dance floor energy.

As night fell, guests moved into a tent strung with disco balls and greenery, where live music by Ten Souljers brought the party to life. And when the band wrapped, the after party began—complete with mirrorball light specks filling the garage, a DJ from Pure Pulse Entertainment, cocktails from Daughter of an Outlaw, and late-night snacks from none other than Dick’s. (And yes, our team managed to get these from Seattle to the island and still have them be warm and ready to eat!)

From heirloom silver trays and coupes to details that honored Jack’s French roots, Claire + Jack’s day was layered with personality and intention. It was elevated yet approachable, rooted in family legacy yet designed with a fresh, modern eye.

Special thanks to 26 Pressed for the scripty, fun invitation suite that set the tone, Parcells Flower Co for creating one of the most memorable ceremony spaces we’ve ever seen, and Brynna Kathleen (and her film/drone associate shooter Emma Studley) for capturing it all in a way that was both documentary and editorial.

Claire + Jack’s wedding was more than just a celebration—it was a family milestone, a design dream, and a true reflection of two people beginning their legacy together.
