Colorful Wedding in Kingston, Washington | Brenda + David | Sarah Anne Thompson

Brenda + David got married on an important day (you can see that here), and then two weeks later, it was time to celebrate with family and friends, and this day felt even more special because Brenda’s daughters, Taylor + Jordan, got to plan and design their mom’s wedding. It was an honor layered with love, and the result was an evening filled with warmth, intentional design, and incredible joy.

Guests arrived to welcome drinks and a grazing board before making their way to the lawn for the ceremony. This spot already held meaning—years earlier, Brenda’s son Connor had married his wife Lauren on the same lawn, using mismatched vintage chairs. Brenda loved the sentiment so much that she and David set out on their own chair-hunting mission, collecting over 50 unique seats that created a one-of-a-kind ceremony space.

David was walked down the aisle by his four daughters, and Brenda by her two (with her son on FaceTime because he is a new fire academy graduate and hire and wasn’t able to be there), before her longtime pastor, Brandon Cameron of Newlife Church, led a ceremony that was as thoughtful as it was heartfelt. Surrounding them, Parcells Flower Co designed a floral meadow that felt like it had grown organically from the lawn, grasses and blooms rising beautifully around Brenda + David as they exchanged vows.

Cocktail hour followed with spicy margaritas and bourbon, served with custom napkins featuring Brenda’s late parents’ handwriting. Aaron Buckner brought the magic, singing and playing piano for both cocktail hours and the ceremony, filling the air with the kind of energy only live music can bring.

Dinner was a Mexican spread by Industry Events PNW, with guests seated under string lights at a mix of wooden farm tables and patterned linen rounds. Each table was layered with colorful, whimsical details—scalloped plates, vintage flatware, cut crystal glassware, and romantic candles woven through stunning florals. The design felt vibrant and mature, curated and celebratory all at once.

The time for toasts came and we passed out Fireball shots (and pickle shots from the kids and non-drinkers)

As night fell, the party didn’t slow. Brenda + David cut into a vintage-inspired cake that said “Cheap & Cheerful” on it, as that was David’s self-proclaimed wedding theme, while guests laughed, danced, and enjoyed a vanilla lemon huckleberry cake from Alderbrook Resort. We ordered in late-night fries from Brenda + David’s favorite dive bar, a playful nod to the couple’s real-life favorites.

Standout moments came together because of the dream team of vendors who poured their heart into the day:
26 Pressed, who brought the vision for paper goods to life with perfection
Parcells Flower Co, whose florals made the ceremony and reception unforgettable
Sarah Anne Thompson, who captured every thoughtful moment in a gallery that feels exactly like the day itself
– And Ridgewood Films, who’ve become family to Brenda + David and beautifully told this story on film

This wasn’t just a wedding—it was a weekend of intention, memory, and the kind of joy that comes when love is shared with family, community, and a few french fries to end the night.

xoxo,
