Amy + Shea’s wedding day in Astoria was nothing short of a dream—moody, intentional, and effortlessly cool in all the right ways. They chose to celebrate at The Ruins, a venue that feels like a secret world of its own with walls that whisper stories and textures that do more than decorate—they define the space. It’s gritty, romantic, dramatic, and totally unexpected, which made it the perfect canvas for these two and their one-of-a-kind celebration.
Before guests even arrived, they had a clue that this wasn’t going to be your average wedding—thanks to the insanely cool invitation suite from 26 Pressed. Full of color, the suite was modern and layered, with just the right funkiness to hint at the aesthetic to come. From the first look to the final dance, this day was full of thoughtful design choices that reflected Amy + Shea’s unique style and love for quirky intentionality.
The ceremony took place at The Ruins under the open sky, surrounded by weathered brick and stone that somehow made everything feel grounded and meaningful. Noble Floral Co. created florals that truly stole the show—brilliant, slightly unstructured in all the right ways. They didn’t just fill the space—they transformed it. Each arrangement had an artistic edge, bringing uniqueness and fun to the raw bones of the venue.
After the ceremony, guests made their way across the street to the Liberty Theatre for cocktail hour—a move that no one saw coming but absolutely loved. The venue’s rich history and vintage charm provided a totally different vibe from The Ruins, while still weaving into the larger aesthetic of the weekend. Drinks in hand, guests wandered the theatre space, soaking in the energy and setting the tone for the celebration still to come.
Back at The Ruins for dinner and dancing, the reception space was layered with bold florals and an effortlessly cool tablescape. We kept the palette bright and bold, with pieces from Lily & Cane and styled details that pulled everything together in a way that felt cool and artistic. Noble Floral Co. once again brought the heat with floral arrangements that were textural and bold in all the right ways.
Dinner was catered by Fulio’s, and let’s just say—people are still talking about it. Every bite was intentional, and the menu felt like an extension of the couple’s laid-back, thoughtful energy. Later in the evening, guests enjoyed a gorgeous cake by Sift & Gather before hitting the dance floor with Stumptown DJs keeping the vibe high.
Amy was the picture of chic in her Sarah Seven gown from The Dress Theory—minimal and structured, but also a total statement. Her hair and makeup by Dani Stevens Skin Care added to the refined yet effortless feel. It was clear that every decision, from the look to the venue to the vendors, was made with care and clarity.
The entire day was documented with such heart by Here Today Photo. Her ability to capture both the emotion and the aesthetic of the day is unmatched—and they didn’t miss a moment. C&B Photo and Film was behind the lens for video, preserving the movement, the music, the tiny glances, and everything in between.
There’s something about Amy + Shea’s day that lingers—maybe it was the venue, the florals, the guests. Maybe it was all of it together. Either way, this wedding was a reminder of how powerful a space, a vision, and a little bit of rule-breaking can be when they come together just right.
